Rummy Alliance – Game Introduction & Rules
Introduction:
Rummy Alliance is an exciting and strategic card game that combines elements of traditional Rummy with team-based gameplay. Designed for 2-4 players (either solo or in teams), the game challenges players to form valid sets and sequences while working cooperatively with their partners. With fast-paced turns, clever card management, and dynamic teamwork, Rummy Alliance offers a fresh twist on the classic Rummy experience, perfect for casual and competitive players alike.
How to Play Rummy Alliance
Objective:
Players (or teams) aim to arrange their cards into valid sets (3-4 cards of the same rank, different suits) and sequences (3+ consecutive cards of the same suit).
The first team/player to declare by melding all cards wins the round.
Setup:
Players: 2-4 (individuals or 2 teams of 2).
Deck: 1-2 standard decks (with Jokers as wild cards).
Deal: Each player gets 13 cards; the remaining cards form the draw pile.
Gameplay:
Draw & Discard: On each turn, a player must:
Draw 1 card (from the draw pile or discard pile).
Discard 1 card to the discard pile.
Team Coordination (Alliance Mode):
Teammates sit opposite each other and can silently strategize but cannot exchange cards.
Valid melds can be combined from both teammates’ hands during declaration.
Melding:
To declare, a player/team must have:
At least 2 sequences, one of which must be pure (no wildcard).
Remaining cards arranged in sets/sequences (with or without wildcards).
Declaration & Scoring:
Call "Rummy!" when ready to declare.
Opponents verify the melds. If valid, the declaring team wins.
If invalid, the team loses penalty points (e.g., 20-40 points).
Scoring (Optional):
Face cards (J, Q, K, A) = 10 points.
Number cards = face value.
Wildcards/Jokers = 0 points.
The losing team adds up their unmelded cards; points are deducted from their total score.
Winning: Play multiple rounds until a team reaches a pre-set target (e.g., 250 points) or has the lowest score after 5 rounds.
