How to Play Rummy Ares
Objective:
Be the first player to discard all your cards by forming valid sets (3-4 cards of the same rank, different suits) and sequences (3+ consecutive cards of the same suit).
Setup:
Use a standard 52-card deck (add a second deck for 4+ players).
Deal 13 cards to each player (adjust for shorter variants).
Place the remaining cards face-down as the draw pile; flip the top card to start the discard pile.
Gameplay:
Draw Phase:
On your turn, draw 1 card from the draw pile or pick the top discard.
Meld Phase:
Lay down valid sets/sequences (if you haven’t already).
Optional: Add cards to existing melds (yours or opponents’).
Discard Phase:
End your turn by discarding 1 card to the discard pile.
Special Rules (Ares Twist):
Power Cards: Certain cards (e.g., Jokers, Aces) act as wildcards or trigger effects (e.g., force opponents to draw).
Sudden Discard: If a player discards a card that could extend a meld, the next player must pick it up.
Winning:
Shout “Rummy!” when you’ve melded all cards (with 1 final discard). Others tally points for unmelded cards. Lowest score after agreed rounds wins!
