How to Play Rummy Buddy:
Objective:
Be the first player to get rid of all your cards by forming valid sets (groups of the same rank) or runs (consecutive cards of the same suit).
Setup:
A standard 52-card deck is used (add a second deck for 4+ players).
Each player is dealt 7 cards.
The remaining cards form the draw pile, with the top card placed face-up as the discard pile.
Gameplay:
Draw a Card: On your turn, pick a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
Form Melds: Try to create sets (e.g., three 7s) or runs (e.g., 4-5-6 of hearts).
Lay Down Melds (Optional): Once you have valid combinations, place them face-up on the table.
Discard: End your turn by discarding one card onto the discard pile.
Winning:
When a player gets rid of all their cards (by melding and discarding), they win the round! Other players add up the value of their remaining cards (face cards = 10, Aces = 1, number cards = face value). The game can be played over multiple rounds until a player reaches a set point total (e.g., 100 points).
Special Rules:
Jokers (if used): Can substitute any card in a set or run.
Going Rummy: If a player discards all cards in one turn without laying down melds beforehand, they score bonus points!
