How to Play Rummy Ox
Objective:
Be the first player to get rid of all your cards by forming valid melds (sets or runs).
Setup:
Use a standard 52-card deck (Jokers optional).
Each player is dealt 7 cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, and the top card is placed face-up as the discard pile.
Gameplay:
On Your Turn:
Draw one card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
Try to form melds:
Set: 3 or 4 cards of the same rank (e.g., 7♥, 7♣, 7♦).
Run: 3+ consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 5♠, 6♠, 7♠).
Lay down valid melds (optional). You may also add cards to existing melds.
End your turn by discarding one card onto the discard pile.
Winning:
The first player to discard all their cards (with at least one meld) wins!
Variations:
Some versions allow "laying off" cards on opponents' melds.
Jokers can be used as wild cards.
Rummy Ox is easy to learn but offers depth for strategy lovers. Give it a try!
