How to Play Hello Rummy
Objective:
The goal is to arrange all your cards into valid sets (groups of cards of the same rank but different suits) or sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit).
Setup:
The game is played with 2 decks of cards (including Jokers) for 2-6 players.
Each player gets 13 cards (10 cards in some variations).
The remaining cards form the draw pile, and one card is placed face-up to start the discard pile.
Gameplay:
Draw a Card: On your turn, pick a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
Form Sets/Sequences:
Pure Sequence (Mandatory): At least one sequence without a Joker (e.g., 4♥-5♥-6♥).
Sets: 3 or 4 cards of the same rank (e.g., 7♠-7♦-7♣).
Impure Sequence: A sequence with a Joker (e.g., 8♠-9♠-Joker).
Discard a Card: End your turn by discarding one card to the discard pile.
Winning the Game:
The first player to meld all 13 cards into valid sets/sequences declares "Rummy" and wins.
Other players lose points based on their ungrouped cards.
Scoring:
Face cards (J, Q, K, A) = 10 points each.
Number cards = Face value (e.g., 7♦ = 7 points).
Jokers = 0 points.
Tips for Beginners:
Focus on forming a pure sequence first (required to win).
Watch opponents' discards to guess their strategy.
