66 Rummy: Brief Introduction & Rules
Introduction:
66 Rummy is a fast-paced and engaging card game for 2-6 players, combining elements of strategy, luck, and quick thinking. The goal is to be the first player to discard all your cards by forming valid sets (groups of the same rank) and runs (consecutive cards of the same suit). With simple rules and dynamic gameplay, it’s perfect for casual play or competitive sessions.
How to Play 66 Rummy
Setup:
Players: 2-6
Deck: 1 or 2 standard decks (with Jokers as wild cards if desired).
Deal: Each player gets:
6 cards (for 2-4 players)
5 cards (for 5-6 players)
The remaining cards form the draw pile, and the top card is placed face-up as the discard pile.
Objective:
Arrange all your cards into valid sets (3+ cards of the same rank, e.g., 7♥, 7♣, 7♦) or runs (3+ consecutive cards of the same suit, e.g., 4♠, 5♠, 6♠), then discard your last card to win.
Gameplay:
Draw: On your turn, draw one card from the draw pile or discard pile.
Meld (Optional): Place valid sets/runs face-up on the table. You may also add cards to existing melds (yours or opponents’).
Discard: End your turn by discarding one card to the discard pile.
Winning:
Shout "Rummy!" when you discard your last card (with no cards left in hand).
Special Rules:
Jokers: Wild cards substitute any card in a set/run.
Going Out: Some variants require a final discard after melding all cards.
Deadlock: If the draw pile runs out, reshuffle the discard pile (except the top card).
Scoring (Optional):
Losers count points from remaining cards:
Face cards = 10 pts, Aces = 1 pt, Number cards = face value.
Lowest total score after multiple rounds wins.
