A pyramid with an n-sided base has a total of 2n edges: n edges form the base (the polygon) and n lateral edges run from each base vertex up to the single apex.
Betting
Examples:
• Triangular pyramid (n = 3): base edges = 3. lateral edges = 3 → total edges = 6.
• Square pyramid (n = 4): base edges = 4. lateral edges = 4 → total edges = 8.
Rummy
In general, for any pyramid whose base is an n-gon, use the formula edges = 2n. If you know the number of sides of the base, substitute that value for n to get the total number of edges.
