How to Play Joy Rummy
Objective:
The goal is to arrange all 13 cards in your hand into valid sets (groups of cards of the same rank but different suits) and sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit).
Game Setup:
Played with 2-6 players using 2 standard decks (including jokers).
Each player gets 13 cards; the remaining cards form the draw pile, and one card is placed face-up as the discard pile.
Key Rules:
Valid Sets & Sequences:
Pure Sequence (Mandatory): At least one sequence without jokers (e.g., 4♥-5♥-6♥).
Sets: 3+ cards of the same rank, different suits (e.g., 7♠-7♦-7♣).
Impure Sequence: A sequence with a joker (e.g., 8♣-Joker-10♣).
Gameplay Flow:
Draw a Card: Pick a card from the draw pile or discard pile.
Discard a Card: Throw one unwanted card to the discard pile.
Declare: Once all cards are arranged, press "Declare" to win (if valid).
Winning:
The first player to form valid sets/sequences with 0 ungrouped cards wins.
Points are calculated based on opponents’ ungrouped cards.
Special Rules:
Jokers: Wild cards substitute any missing card in a set/sequence.
Drop Option: Exit the game early with penalty points (Middle Drop = 40 pts; Full Drop = 80 pts).
