A standard 52-card deck is used (plus Jokers if included).
Each player is dealt 13 cards (10 cards in some variations).
The remaining cards form the draw pile, and the top card starts the discard pile.
Gameplay:
On their turn, a player must draw a card (from the draw pile or discard pile).
They can then meld (lay down) valid sets/sequences if possible.
Finally, they discard one card to the discard pile.
Winning:
A player wins by declaring "Rummy" after forming all their cards into valid sets/sequences (with at least one pure sequence—no Joker).
Other players tally their unmatched cards as penalty points.
Key Rules:
A "pure sequence" (e.g., 4-5-6♥) is mandatory to win.
Jokers can substitute any card in impure sequences/sets.
