TILE RUMMY FIELD NOTE 09
12 Common Tile Rummy Mistakes
Avoid illegal groups, broken runs, weak openings, rushed jokers and incomplete table checks.

Avoid illegal groups, broken runs, weak openings, rushed jokers and incomplete table checks.
Mistakes are usually structural
The most frequent errors are mixing colours inside a run, repeating a colour in a group, leaving a two-tile fragment, reusing one tile mentally in two melds and moving table tiles before completing the opening requirement.
A practical method
Strategic errors include spending a joker on an easy gap, holding isolated high tiles too long and building only one route out of the rack.
Apply it at the table
Use a final scan every turn: length, sequence, colour, duplicates and unused loose tiles. This short routine prevents most disputes.
Good Tile Rummy decisions are visible: every tile has one legal place, every rearrangement has a finished plan.
