TILE RUMMY FIELD NOTE 06
A Better Tile-Rack Sorting System
Use a repeatable visual layout that reveals runs, groups, gaps and isolated tiles faster.

Use a repeatable visual layout that reveals runs, groups, gaps and isolated tiles faster.
Make the rack readable
Good sorting reduces mental load. Arrange colours in separate lanes, order each lane low to high and leave a small gap between confirmed patterns and speculative connections.
A practical method
Mark equal-number group opportunities by aligning them vertically or placing them near one end. Keep jokers and newly drawn tiles in a consistent location so they are not accidentally counted twice.
Apply it at the table
Re-sort only after meaningful changes. Constant rearrangement can hide what you previously noticed and slows turn planning.
Good Tile Rummy decisions are visible: every tile has one legal place, every rearrangement has a finished plan.
