The board changes quickly
With two players, every exposed tile may return to you as a changed table before long. Flexible connectors are especially valuable because the table develops with fewer competing plans.
A practical method
Track the opponent’s repeated draws and hesitations without pretending you know the rack. Use the information to choose between opening the table and protecting a scarce connector.
Apply it at the table
Endgames accelerate. Keep the rack compact and avoid carrying several unrelated high-number tiles into the final exchanges.
